Surah Ash-Shu'ara

طسٓمٓ ﴿١﴾﴿١﴾

Ta, Seen, Meem.

تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ﴿٢﴾﴿٢﴾

These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.

لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٣﴾﴿٣﴾

Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers.

إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ ﴿٤﴾﴿٤﴾

If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ ﴿٥﴾﴿٥﴾

No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, but they turn their backs at it.

فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ﴿٦﴾﴿٦﴾

They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿٧﴾﴿٧﴾

Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein?

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٨﴾﴿٨﴾

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٩﴾﴿٩﴾

Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٠﴾﴿١٠﴾

Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people.

قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ ﴿١١﴾﴿١١﴾

The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear?”

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ ﴿١٢﴾﴿١٢﴾

He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me.

وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ ﴿١٣﴾﴿١٣﴾

And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too.

وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ ﴿١٤﴾﴿١٤﴾

And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me.”

قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ ﴿١٥﴾﴿١٥﴾

He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening.

فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٦﴾﴿١٦﴾

Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.

أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿١٧﴾﴿١٧﴾

Let the Children of Israel go with us.’”

قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ﴿١٨﴾﴿١٨﴾

He said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years?

وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٩﴾﴿١٩﴾

And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”

قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ﴿٢٠﴾﴿٢٠﴾

He said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray.

فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿٢١﴾﴿٢١﴾

And I fled from you when I feared you; but my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers.

وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿٢٢﴾﴿٢٢﴾

Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿٢٣﴾﴿٢٣﴾

Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds?”

قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ﴿٢٤﴾﴿٢٤﴾

He said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware.”

قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾﴿٢٥﴾

He said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”

قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿٢٦﴾﴿٢٦﴾

He said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”

قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ ﴿٢٧﴾﴿٢٧﴾

He said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy.”

قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾﴿٢٨﴾

He said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand.”

قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ ﴿٢٩﴾﴿٢٩﴾

He said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner.”

قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٣٠﴾﴿٣٠﴾

He said, “What if I bring you something convincing?”

قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ﴿٣١﴾﴿٣١﴾

He said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful.”

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٣٢﴾﴿٣٢﴾

So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see.

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ ﴿٣٣﴾﴿٣٣﴾

And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.

قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٣٤﴾﴿٣٤﴾

He said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician.

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾﴿٣٥﴾

He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend?”

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ﴿٣٦﴾﴿٣٦﴾

They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities.

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ ﴿٣٧﴾﴿٣٧﴾

To bring you every experienced magician.”

فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ﴿٣٨﴾﴿٣٨﴾

So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day.

وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾﴿٣٩﴾

And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered?

لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ﴿٤٠﴾﴿٤٠﴾

That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners.”

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ﴿٤١﴾﴿٤١﴾

When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners?”

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴿٤٢﴾﴿٤٢﴾

He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored.”

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ ﴿٤٣﴾﴿٤٣﴾

Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present.”

فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾﴿٤٤﴾

So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners.”

فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ﴿٤٥﴾﴿٤٥﴾

Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery.

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ ﴿٤٦﴾﴿٤٦﴾

And the magicians fell down prostrating.

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿٤٧﴾﴿٤٧﴾

They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ﴿٤٨﴾﴿٤٨﴾

The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿٤٩﴾﴿٤٩﴾

He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? He must be your chief, who taught you magic. You will soon know. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”

قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ﴿٥٠﴾﴿٥٠﴾

They said, “No problem. To our Lord we will return.

إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٥١﴾﴿٥١﴾

We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers.”

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾﴿٥٢﴾

And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. You will be followed.”

فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ﴿٥٣﴾﴿٥٣﴾

Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities.

إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ ﴿٥٤﴾﴿٥٤﴾

“These are a small gang.

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ ﴿٥٥﴾﴿٥٥﴾

And they are enraging us.

وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ ﴿٥٦﴾﴿٥٦﴾

But we are a vigilant multitude.”

فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿٥٧﴾﴿٥٧﴾

So We drove them out of gardens and springs.

وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿٥٨﴾﴿٥٨﴾

And treasures and noble dwellings.

كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿٥٩﴾﴿٥٩﴾

So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them.

فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ ﴿٦٠﴾﴿٦٠﴾

And they pursued them at sunrise.

فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ﴿٦١﴾﴿٦١﴾

When the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken.”

قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ﴿٦٢﴾﴿٦٢﴾

He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me.”

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿٦٣﴾﴿٦٣﴾

We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff.” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill.

وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ﴿٦٤﴾﴿٦٤﴾

And there We brought the others near.

وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿٦٥﴾﴿٦٥﴾

And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ﴿٦٦﴾﴿٦٦﴾

Then We drowned the others.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٦٧﴾﴿٦٧﴾

In that there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٦٨﴾﴿٦٨﴾

Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ﴿٦٩﴾﴿٦٩﴾

And relate to them the story of Abraham.

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿٧٠﴾﴿٧٠﴾

When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”

قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ ﴿٧١﴾﴿٧١﴾

They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”

قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ ﴿٧٢﴾﴿٧٢﴾

He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?

أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ ﴿٧٣﴾﴿٧٣﴾

Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٧٤﴾﴿٧٤﴾

They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”

قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿٧٥﴾﴿٧٥﴾

He said, “Have you considered what you worship?

أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ ﴿٧٦﴾﴿٧٦﴾

You and your ancient ancestors?

فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿٧٧﴾﴿٧٧﴾

They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ ﴿٧٨﴾﴿٧٨﴾

He who created me, and guides me.

وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ ﴿٧٩﴾﴿٧٩﴾

He who feeds me, and waters me.

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ﴿٨٠﴾﴿٨٠﴾

And when I get sick, He heals me.

وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ ﴿٨١﴾﴿٨١﴾

He who makes me die, and then revives me.

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ﴿٨٢﴾﴿٨٢﴾

He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ﴿٨٣﴾﴿٨٣﴾

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.

وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ﴿٨٤﴾﴿٨٤﴾

And give me a reputation of truth among the others.

وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٨٥﴾﴿٨٥﴾

And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.

وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ﴿٨٦﴾﴿٨٦﴾

And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided.

وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿٨٧﴾﴿٨٧﴾

And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.

يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ ﴿٨٨﴾﴿٨٨﴾

The Day when neither wealth nor children will help.

إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ﴿٨٩﴾﴿٨٩﴾

Except for him who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”

وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٩٠﴾﴿٩٠﴾

And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ ﴿٩١﴾﴿٩١﴾

And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.

وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿٩٢﴾﴿٩٢﴾

And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ ﴿٩٣﴾﴿٩٣﴾

Besides Allah? Can they help you, or help themselves?”

فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ﴿٩٤﴾﴿٩٤﴾

Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.

وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ ﴿٩٥﴾﴿٩٥﴾

And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.

قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾﴿٩٦﴾

They will say, as they feud in it.

تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٩٧﴾﴿٩٧﴾

“By Allah, we were in evident error.

إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿٩٨﴾﴿٩٨﴾

For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds.

وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ﴿٩٩﴾﴿٩٩﴾

No one misled us except the sinners.

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ ﴿١٠٠﴾﴿١٠٠﴾

Now we have no intercessors.

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ ﴿١٠١﴾﴿١٠١﴾

And no sincere friend.

فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٠٢﴾﴿١٠٢﴾

If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٠٣﴾﴿١٠٣﴾

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٠٤﴾﴿١٠٤﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٠٥﴾﴿١٠٥﴾

The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٠٦﴾﴿١٠٦﴾

Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٠٧﴾﴿١٠٧﴾

I am to you a faithful messenger.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٠٨﴾﴿١٠٨﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٩﴾﴿١٠٩﴾

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١١٠﴾﴿١١٠﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.”

قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ ﴿١١١﴾﴿١١١﴾

They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١١٢﴾﴿١١٢﴾

He said, “What do I know about what they do?

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ ﴿١١٣﴾﴿١١٣﴾

Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.

وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١١٤﴾﴿١١٤﴾

And I am not about to drive away the believers.

إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١١٥﴾﴿١١٥﴾

I am only a clear warner.”

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ ﴿١١٦﴾﴿١١٦﴾

They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ ﴿١١٧﴾﴿١١٧﴾

He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.

فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١١٨﴾﴿١١٨﴾

So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.”

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ﴿١١٩﴾﴿١١٩﴾

So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ﴿١٢٠﴾﴿١٢٠﴾

Then We drowned the rest.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٢١﴾﴿١٢١﴾

In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٢٢﴾﴿١٢٢﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٢٣﴾﴿١٢٣﴾

Aad disbelieved the messengers.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٢٤﴾﴿١٢٤﴾

When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٢٥﴾﴿١٢٥﴾

I am to you a faithful messenger.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٢٦﴾﴿١٢٦﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٢٧﴾﴿١٢٧﴾

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ ﴿١٢٨﴾﴿١٢٨﴾

Do you build a monument on every height for vanity’s sake?

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ ﴿١٢٩﴾﴿١٢٩﴾

And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ ﴿١٣٠﴾﴿١٣٠﴾

And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٣١﴾﴿١٣١﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٣٢﴾﴿١٣٢﴾

And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ ﴿١٣٣﴾﴿١٣٣﴾

He supplied you with livestock and children.

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿١٣٤﴾﴿١٣٤﴾

And gardens and springs.

إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٣٥﴾﴿١٣٥﴾

I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”

قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ ﴿١٣٦﴾﴿١٣٦﴾

They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.

إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٣٧﴾﴿١٣٧﴾

This is nothing but morals of the ancients.

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ﴿١٣٨﴾﴿١٣٨﴾

And we will not be punished.”

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣٩﴾﴿١٣٩﴾

So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٤٠﴾﴿١٤٠﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٤١﴾﴿١٤١﴾

Thamood disbelieved the messengers.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٤٢﴾﴿١٤٢﴾

When their brother Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٤٣﴾﴿١٤٣﴾

I am to you a faithful messenger.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٤٤﴾﴿١٤٤﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٤٥﴾﴿١٤٥﴾

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ ﴿١٤٦﴾﴿١٤٦﴾

Will you be left secure in what is here?

فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿١٤٧﴾﴿١٤٧﴾

In gardens and springs?

وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ ﴿١٤٨﴾﴿١٤٨﴾

And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious?

وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ ﴿١٤٩﴾﴿١٤٩﴾

And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains?

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٥٠﴾﴿١٥٠﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿١٥١﴾﴿١٥١﴾

And do not obey the command of the extravagant.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ ﴿١٥٢﴾﴿١٥٢﴾

Who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform.”

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ﴿١٥٣﴾﴿١٥٣﴾

They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.

مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ﴿١٥٤﴾﴿١٥٤﴾

You are nothing but a man like us. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.”

قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ﴿١٥٥﴾﴿١٥٥﴾

He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day.

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٥٦﴾﴿١٥٦﴾

And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you.”

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ ﴿١٥٧﴾﴿١٥٧﴾

But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse.

فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٥٨﴾﴿١٥٨﴾

So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٥٩﴾﴿١٥٩﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٦٠﴾﴿١٦٠﴾

The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٦١﴾﴿١٦١﴾

When their brother Lot said to them, “Do you not fear?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٦٢﴾﴿١٦٢﴾

I am to you a faithful messenger.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٦٣﴾﴿١٦٣﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٦٤﴾﴿١٦٤﴾

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٦٥﴾﴿١٦٥﴾

Do you approach the males of the world?

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ ﴿١٦٦﴾﴿١٦٦﴾

And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ ﴿١٦٧﴾﴿١٦٧﴾

They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”

قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ ﴿١٦٨﴾﴿١٦٨﴾

He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٦٩﴾﴿١٦٩﴾

“My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”

فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿١٧٠﴾﴿١٧٠﴾

So We saved him and his family, all together.

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ ﴿١٧١﴾﴿١٧١﴾

Except for an old woman among those who tarried.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ ﴿١٧٢﴾﴿١٧٢﴾

Then We destroyed the others.

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ﴿١٧٣﴾﴿١٧٣﴾

And We rained down on them a rain. Dreadful is the rain of those forewarned.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٧٤﴾﴿١٧٤﴾

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٧٥﴾﴿١٧٥﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٧٦﴾﴿١٧٦﴾

The people of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٧٧﴾﴿١٧٧﴾

When Shuaib said to them, “Do you not fear?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ﴿١٧٨﴾﴿١٧٨﴾

I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿١٧٩﴾﴿١٧٩﴾

So fear Allah, and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٨٠﴾﴿١٨٠﴾

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ ﴿١٨١﴾﴿١٨١﴾

Give full measure, and do not cheat.

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ﴿١٨٢﴾﴿١٨٢﴾

And weigh with accurate scales.

وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ﴿١٨٣﴾﴿١٨٣﴾

And do not defraud people of their belongings, and do not work corruption in the land.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٨٤﴾﴿١٨٤﴾

And fear Him who created you and the masses of old.”

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ﴿١٨٥﴾﴿١٨٥﴾

They said, “You are one of those bewitched.

وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ﴿١٨٦﴾﴿١٨٦﴾

And you are nothing but a man like us; and we think that you are a liar.

فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ﴿١٨٧﴾﴿١٨٧﴾

So bring down on us pieces from the sky, if you are truthful.”

قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٨٨﴾﴿١٨٨﴾

He said, “My Lord is well aware of what you do.”

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٨٩﴾﴿١٨٩﴾

But they denied him. So the punishment of the day of gloom gripped them. It was the punishment of a great day.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٩٠﴾﴿١٩٠﴾

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٩١﴾﴿١٩١﴾

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٩٢﴾﴿١٩٢﴾

It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ ﴿١٩٣﴾﴿١٩٣﴾

The Honest Spirit came down with it.

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ ﴿١٩٤﴾﴿١٩٤﴾

Upon your heart, that you may be one of the warners.

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٩٥﴾﴿١٩٥﴾

In a clear Arabic tongue.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٩٦﴾﴿١٩٦﴾

And it is in the scriptures of the ancients.

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿١٩٧﴾﴿١٩٧﴾

Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognized it?

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ ﴿١٩٨﴾﴿١٩٨﴾

Had We revealed it to one of the foreigners.

فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٩٩﴾﴿١٩٩﴾

And he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it.

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿٢٠٠﴾﴿٢٠٠﴾

Thus We make it pass through the hearts of the guilty.

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ﴿٢٠١﴾﴿٢٠١﴾

They will not believe in it until they witness the painful punishment.

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿٢٠٢﴾﴿٢٠٢﴾

It will come to them suddenly, while they are unaware.

فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ ﴿٢٠٣﴾﴿٢٠٣﴾

Then they will say, “Are we given any respite?”

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ﴿٢٠٤﴾﴿٢٠٤﴾

Do they seek to hasten Our punishment?

أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ ﴿٢٠٥﴾﴿٢٠٥﴾

Have you considered: if We let them enjoy themselves for some years.

ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ ﴿٢٠٦﴾﴿٢٠٦﴾

Then there comes to them what they were promised.

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ ﴿٢٠٧﴾﴿٢٠٧﴾

Of what avail to them will be their past enjoyments?

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ﴿٢٠٨﴾﴿٢٠٨﴾

Never did We destroy a town, but it had warners.

ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ ﴿٢٠٩﴾﴿٢٠٩﴾

As a reminder—We are never unjust.

وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ﴿٢١٠﴾﴿٢١٠﴾

It was not the devils that revealed it.

وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ﴿٢١١﴾﴿٢١١﴾

It is not in their interests, nor in their power.

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ ﴿٢١٢﴾﴿٢١٢﴾

They are barred from hearing.

فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ ﴿٢١٣﴾﴿٢١٣﴾

So do not pray to another god with Allah, else you will be of those tormented.

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ﴿٢١٤﴾﴿٢١٤﴾

And warn your close relatives.

وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٢١٥﴾﴿٢١٥﴾

And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you.

فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٢١٦﴾﴿٢١٦﴾

And if they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do.”

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ﴿٢١٧﴾﴿٢١٧﴾

And put your trust in the Almighty, the Merciful.

ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ﴿٢١٨﴾﴿٢١٨﴾

He who sees you when you rise.

وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ﴿٢١٩﴾﴿٢١٩﴾

And your devotions amidst the worshipers.

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿٢٢٠﴾﴿٢٢٠﴾

He is indeed the Hearer, the Aware.

هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ﴿٢٢١﴾﴿٢٢١﴾

Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?

تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ ﴿٢٢٢﴾﴿٢٢٢﴾

They descend upon every sinful liar.

يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ ﴿٢٢٣﴾﴿٢٢٣﴾

They give ear, and most of them are liars.

وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ﴿٢٢٤﴾﴿٢٢٤﴾

And as for the poets—the deviators follow them.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ ﴿٢٢٥﴾﴿٢٢٥﴾

Do you not see how they ramble in every style?

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٢٢٦﴾﴿٢٢٦﴾

And how they say what they do not do?

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ ﴿٢٢٧﴾﴿٢٢٧﴾

Except for those who believe, and do good deeds, and remember Allah frequently, and defend themselves after they are wronged. As for those who do wrong, they will know by what overturning they will be overturned.
