Quran 28:23

And when he arrived at the waters of Midian, he found there a crowd of people drawing water, and he noticed two women waiting on the side. He said, “What is the matter with you?” They said, “We cannot draw water until the shepherds depart, and our father is a very old man.”

And when he came unto the water of Midian he found there a whole tribe of men, watering. And he found apart from them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What aileth you? The two said: We cannot give (our flocks) to drink till the shepherds return from the water; and our father is a very old man.

Ve vaktâ ki Medyen suyuna vardı, üzerinde bir küme insan buldu suluyorlar, ötelerinde de iki dişi ehli buldu sakınıp duruyorlar, derdiniz nedir? Dedi «biz: çobanlar çekip gitmeyince sulamayız ve bizim babamız büyük bir pirdir» dediler

Arrivé à la fontaine de Madian, il y trouva une troupe d’hommes qui abreuvaient leurs troupeaux. Et à côté il aperçut deux femmes qui écartaient leur troupeau. Que faites-vous ici ? leur demanda-t-il. — Nous n’abreuverons nos brebis, répondirent-elles, que lorsque les bergers seront partis. Notre père est un vieillard respectable.

Toen hij aan den bron van Madian was aangekomen, vond hij, nabij haar, een gezelschap van mannen, die bezig waren hunne kudden te drenken. Bij hen vond hij twee vrouwen, die hare schapen op eenigen afstand hielden. En hij zeide tot haar: Wat doet gij hier? Zij antwoordden: Wij zullen onze kudden niet drenken, dan nadat de schaapherders de hunne zullen hebben weggedreven; want onze vader is een achtingswaardig man van hoogen ouderdom.

Giunto alla fontana di Madian, vi trovò una turba di persone che abbeveravano (i loro armenti). E da una parte vide due donne che allontanavano il loro armento. Che fate qui? domandò loro. Abbevereremo le nostre pecore, risposero, quando i pastori saranno partiti. Nostro padre è un vecchio rispettabile.
