Surah Al-Imran (Aal-Imran), verse 110 of 200 · Juz 4

Translations of Quran 3:110
EnglishTalal Itani

You are the best community that ever emerged for humanity: you advocate what is moral, and forbid what is immoral, and believe in Allah. Had the People of the Scripture believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are the believers, but most of them are sinners.

EnglishPickthall, 1930

Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers.

TurkishElmalılı Hamdi Yazır, 1935

Siz, insanlar için çıkarılmış en hayırlı bir ümmet olmak üzere vücude geldiniz, ma'rufı emredersiniz, münkerden nehy eylersiniz ve Allah’a inanır iman getirirsiniz, Ehl-i Kitap da imana gelse idi elbette haklarında hayırlı olurdu, içlerinden iman edenler varsa da ekserisi dinden çıkmış fasıklardır.

FrenchKazimirski, 1840
