Quran 40:83

When their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in the knowledge they had, and the very things they used to ridicule besieged them.

And when their messengers brought them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) they exulted in the knowledge they (themselves) possessed. And that which they were wont to mock befell them.

Çünkü onlara Peygamberleri beyyinelerle geldikleri vakıt kendilerinde bulunan ılme güvendiler de o istihza ettikleri şey kendilerini kuşatıverdi

Quand les envoyés, munis de preuves évidentes de leur mission, parurent au milieu d’eux, ils se réjouissaient avec orgueil de la science qu’ils possédaient ; mais le supplice dont ils se riaient les enveloppa de tous côtés.

En toen hunne apostelen tot hen kwamen met duidelijke bewijzen hunner zending verheugden zij zich vol overmoed in de kennis, die met hen was, doch de straf, waarover zij hadden gespot, omringde hen.

Quando gl’inviati, muniti di prove evidenti (della loro missione) si mostrarono in mezzo a loro, essi erano orgogliosi della scienza che possedevano; ma quel (supplizio) di cui si ridevano, l’avviluppò da ogni parte.
