Translations of Quran 41:25
EnglishTalal Itani

We had assigned companions for them, who glamorized to them what was in front of them, and what was behind them. And the Word proved true against them in communities of jinn and humans that have passed away before them. They were losers.

EnglishPickthall, 1930

And We assigned them comrades (in the world), who made their present and their past fairseeming unto them. And the Word concerning nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before them hath effect for them. Lo! they were ever losers.

DutchKeyzer, 1860, from Kazimirski's French

En wij zullen hun de duivels tot onafscheidbare makkers geven, die hun valsche denkbeelden voorstelden, welke zij nopens deze tegenwoordige wereld en de volgende voedden; en voor hen is het vonnis juist passend, dat vroeger werd uitgesproken over de volkeren van geniussen en menschen die voor hen waren, en waardoor zij ten gronde gingen.

ItalianCalza, 1847, from Kazimirski's French

Li avevamo attaccati a de’ compagni inseparabili che hanno tutto abbellito ai lor occhi. La sentenza eseguita sulle generazioni che l’han preceduti, uomini e genj, sarà anche eseguita su loro, e saranno perduti.
