Quran 8:7

Allah has promised you one of the two groups—that it would be yours—but you wanted the unarmed group to be yours. Allah intends to prove the truth with His words, and to uproot the disbelievers.

And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His words, and cut the root of the disbelievers;

Ve o vakıt Allah, size iki taifenin birini va'dediyordu ki sizin olsun, siz, ise arzu ediyordunuz ki şekvetsiz olan sizin olsun, halbuki Allah, kelimatiyle hakkı ihkak etmek ve kâfîrlerin arkasını kesmek dileyordu

Le Seigneur vous avait promis que l’une des deux troupes vous serait livrée ; vous désirâtes que ce ne fut pas la plus forte. Le Seigneur cependant a voulu prouver la vérité de ses paroles, et exterminer jusqu’au dernier des infidèles,

En herinner u, toen God u een der twee deelen beloofde, dat het u zou worden gegeven, en gij begeerdet dat het deel, hetwelk niet van wapens was voorzien aan u zou worden overgeleverd; maar God wilde de waarheid zijner woorden bekend maken, en het grootste deel der ongeloovigen afsnijden.

Il Signore vi aveva promesso che vi avrebbe fatto impadronire di una delle due armate; voi desideraste che non fosse la più forte. Il signore nonostante volle provare la verità delle sue parole coll’esterminare fino all’ultimo gl’infedeli,
