Quran 28:27

He said, “I want to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, provided you work for me for eight years. But if you complete ten, that is up to you. I do not intend to impose any hardship on you. You will find me, Allah willing, one of the righteous.”

He said: Lo! I fain would marry thee to one of these two daughters of mine on condition that thou hirest thyself to me for (the term of) eight pilgrimages. Then if thou completest ten it will be of thine own accord, for I would not make it hard for thee. Allah willing, thou wilt find me of the righteous.

Dedi: haberin olsun ben şu iki kızımın birini sana nikâh etmek istiyorum, sen bana sekiz sene ecîrlik etmek üzere ki eğer onu doldurursan, o da kendinden, maamafih seni zorlamak istemiyorum inşaallah beni salihînden bulacaksın

Je veux te donner en mariage, dit le vieillard, une de mes deux filles que voici, à condition que tu me serviras pendant huit ans. Si tu veux aller jusqu’à dix, c’est à ta volonté. Je ne veux point cependant t’imposer rien d’onéreux, et, s’il plaît à Dieu, tu me trouveras toujours équitable.

En Shoaib zeide tot Mozes: Waarlijk, ik wil u eene van deze mijne twee dochters ten huwelijk geven, op voorwaarde, dat gij mij gedurende acht jaren zult dienen, en het ligt geheel aan u, mij tien jaren te dienen; want ik wil u geen onrecht opleggen, en zoo het Gode behaagt, zult gij bevinden, dat ik een eerlijk man ben.

Voglio darti in matrimonio (disse il vecchio) una delle mie due figlie che vedi, a condizione che mi servirai per otto anni. Se vorrai andare fino a dieci, sarà a tuo arbitrio. Non ostante non voglio importi alcuna cosa onerosa, e, se piace a Dio, mi troverai sempre ragionevole.
