Quran 4:95

Surah An-Nisa (The Women), verse 95 of 176 · Juz 5

Translations of Quran 4:95
EnglishTalal Itani

Not equal are the inactive among the believers—except the disabled—and the strivers in the cause of Allah with their possessions and their persons. Allah prefers the strivers with their possessions and their persons above the inactive, by a degree. But Allah has promised goodness to both. Yet Allah favors the strivers, over the inactive, with a great reward.

EnglishPickthall, 1930

Those of the believers who sit still, other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, are not on an equality with those who strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah hath conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Unto each Allah hath promised good, but He hath bestowed on those who strive a great reward above the sedentary;

TurkishElmalılı Hamdi Yazır, 1935

Mü'minlerden özür sahibi olmaksızın oturanlar ve Allah yolunda mallariyle, canlariyle cihad edenler müsavi olamazlar, Allah, mallariyle ve canlariyle mücahid olanları oturanların derece itibariyle üzerine geçirdi, gerçi Allah ikisine de husnayi (cenneti) vad buyurmuştur, bununla beraber Allah mücahidlere oturanların fevkinde azîm bir ecir ihsan etmiştir.

FrenchKazimirski, 1840

Les fidèles qui resteront dans leurs foyers sans y être contraints par la nécessité ne seront pas traités comme ceux qui combattront dans le sentier de Dieu, avec le sacrifice de leurs biens et de leurs personnes. Dieu a assigné à ceux-ci un rang plus élevé qu’à ceux-là ; il a fait de belles promesses à tous ; mais il a destiné aux combattants une récompense plus grande qu’à ceux qui restent dans leurs foyers ;
