Translations of Quran 16:116
EnglishTalal Itani

And do not say of falsehood asserted by your tongues, “This is lawful, and this is unlawful,” in order to invent lies and attribute them to Allah. Those who invent lies and attribute them to Allah will not succeed.

EnglishPickthall, 1930

And speak not, concerning that which your own tongues qualify (as clean or unclean), the falsehood: "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so that ye invent a lie against Allah. Lo! those who invent a lie against Allah will not succeed.

TurkishElmalılı Hamdi Yazır, 1935

Sade dilinizin yalan tavsıfile şu halâl, şu haram demeyin ki yalanı Allaha iftira etmiş olursunuz, şüphe yok ki yalanı Allaha iftirâ edenler felâh bulmazlar

FrenchKazimirski, 1840
