Quran 17:16

When We decide to destroy a town, We command its affluent ones, they transgress in it, so the word becomes justified against it, and We destroy it completely.

And when We would destroy a township We send commandment to its folk who live at ease, and afterward they commit abomination therein, and so the Word (of doom) hath effect for it, and we annihilate it with complete annihilation.

Bir memleketi helâk etmek murad ettiğimiz vakıt ise onun devletlerine (itaat) emrederiz, onlar itaat etmez de orada fısk yaparlar, bunun üzerine o memleket aleyhine huküm, hakkolur artık onu tedmir eder de ederiz

Lorsque nous voulûmes détruire une cité, nous adressâmes d’abord nos ordres à ses citoyens opulents ; mais ils se montrèrent criminels. L’arrêt fut prononcé, et nous l’avons exterminée.

En als wij besloten hadden eene stad te verwoesten, gelastten wij hare in overvloed levende inwoners, onzen gezant te gelooven; maar zij handelden misdadig; daarom werd dat vonnis tegen die stad rechtvaardig uitgesproken en wij verdelgden haar.

Quando si volle distruggere una città, inviammo dapprima i nostri ordini ai cittadini più ricchi; ma si mostrarono colpevoli. Il decreto fu pronunziato, e l’abbiamo annientata.
