Quran 2:264

O you who believe! Do not nullify your charitable deeds with reminders and hurtful words, like him who spends his wealth to be seen by the people, and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. His likeness is that of a smooth rock covered with soil: a downpour strikes it, and leaves it bare—they gain nothing from their efforts. Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

O ye who believe! Render not vain your almsgiving by reproach and injury, like him who spendeth his wealth only to be seen of men and believeth not in Allah and the Last Day. His likeness is as the likeness of a rock whereon is dust of earth; a rainstorm smiteth it, leaving it smooth and bare. They have no control of aught of that which they have gained. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.

Ey o bütün iman edenler! sadakalarınızı başa kakmak, gönül kırmakla boşa gidermeyin: O herif gibi ki nasa gösteriş için malını dağıtır da ne Allaha inanır ne Ahıret gününe, artık onun meseli bir kaya meseline benzer ki üzerinde bir az toprak varmış, derken şiddetli bir sağanak inmişde onu yap yalçın etmiş bırakıvermiş: Öyleler kesiblerinden hiç bir şey istifade edemezler, Allah kâfirler güruhunu doğru yola çıkarmaz

Ô croyants ! Ne rendez point vaines vos aumônes par les reproches ou les mauvais procédés, comme agit celui qui fait des largesses par ostentation, qui ne croit point en Dieu et au jour dernier. Il ressemble à une colline rocailleuse couverte d’un peu de terre ; qu’une averse tombe sur cette colline, elle n’y laissera qu’un rocher. De pareils hommes n’auront aucun profit de leurs œuvres ; car Dieu ne dirige point les infidèles.

O geloovigen! maakt uwe aalmoezen toch niet ijdel door verwijtingen of onvriendelijkheid, evenals diegenen, welke slechts aalmoezen geven, opdat de lieden het zullen zien, maar niet aan God en aan den jongsten dag gelooven. Zij gelijken de kiezelsteenen die op de aarde liggen; het moge er op regenen, zij blijven toch hard. Hunne zaken zullen hun geene winst aanbrengen; want God leidt de ongeloovigen niet.

O credenti! non rendete vane le elemosine con rimproveri, o cattivi modi, come fa colui che è generoso per ostentazione, che non crede in Dio, ed al giorno ultimo. Esso rassomiglia ad una collina sassosa coperta di polvere; se una pioggia dirotta cade su questa collina, non vi resterà che un masso di sassi. Simili uomini non otterranno alcun profitto dalle loro opere, poiché Dio non dirige gl’infedeli.
