Quran 7:169

They were succeeded by generations who inherited the Scripture and chose the materials of this world, saying, “We will be forgiven.” And should similar materials come their way, they would again seize them. Did they not make a covenant to uphold the Scripture, and to not say about Allah except the truth? Did they not study its contents? But the Home of the Hereafter is better for the cautious; will you not understand?

And a generation hath succeeded them who inherited the scriptures. They grasp the goods of this low life (as the price of evil-doing) and say: It will be forgiven us. And if there came to them (again) the offer of the like, they would accept it (and would sin again). Hath not the covenant of the Scripture been taken on their behalf that they should not speak aught concerning Allah save the truth? And they have studied that which is therein. And the abode of the Hereafter is better, for those who ward off (evil). Have ye then no sense?

Derken arkalarından bunlara bozuk bir güruh halef oldu ki kitâbı miras aldılar, şu alçak Dünya arazını irtikâb ile alırlar da birde «bize mağfiret olunacak» derler. Mukabil taraftan da kendilerine öyle bir şey gelse onu da alırlar, ya Allaha karşı haktan başka bir şey söylemiyeceklerine dâir kendilerinden kitâb mîsakı alınmadınmı idi? Ve onun içindekini ders edinib okumadılarmı? Halbuki Âhıret evi Allahtan korkanlar için daha hayırlıdır, halâ akıllanmıyacakmısınız?

De mauvais successeurs succédèrent à ceux-là ; ils sont héritiers du Livre (du Pentateuque), et ils reçoivent les biens périssables de ce vil monde pour prix de leur perversité, et disent : Cela nous sera pardonné ; et puis, si on leur en offre de nouveaux, ils les reçoivent encore. N’a-t-on pas reçu de leur part un engagement solennel, le pacte des Écritures, lorsqu’on leur a recommandé de ne dire sur Dieu que la vérité ? Ils (les juifs d’aujourd’hui) étudient cependant ce que ces Écritures contiennent ; et d’ailleurs le séjour de l’autre monde à plus de valeur pour ceux qui craignent Dieu, ne le comprendrez-vous pas ?

En eene nakomelingschap volgde hen op, die het boek der wet erfde en de tijdelijke goederen dezer wereld ontving, en zeide: Het zal ons zekerlijk worden vergeven; en indien hun een tijdelijk voordeel gelijk het vorige wordt aangeboden, nemen zij het mede aan. Is niet het verbond van het boek der wet met hen aangegaan, dat zij niets dan waarheid van God zouden spreken? Zij lezen echter thans ijverig wat daarin staat. Doch de genieting van het volgende leven zal beter voor degenen zijn, die God vreezen. Begrijpt gij dat niet?

Vennero dopo essi i loro successori, che riceverono l’eredità del Libro (il Pentateuco). Essi accettano i beni di questo mondo, e dicono: Ciò ci sarà perdonato; e quindi se se n’offrono loro degli altri, li ricevono egualmente, come se non si fosse avuta da essi l’alleanza del Libro quando loro fu detto: Dite sempre la verità sul conto di Dio; nondimeno studiate il Libro. Il soggiorno dell’altro mondo ha più valore per quei che temono Dio;
