Quran 7:12

He said, “What prevented you from bowing down when I have commanded you?” He said, “I am better than he; You created me from fire, and You created him from mud.”

He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? (Iblis) said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud.

Sana, buyurdu: «emrettiğim halde secde etmemene mani' ne oldu?» ben, dedi: ondan hayırlıyım, beni ateşten yarattın, onu ise çamurdan yarattın

Dieu lui dit : Qu’est-ce qui t’empêche de t’incliner devant lui, quand je te l’ordonne ? Je vaux mieux que lui, dit Eblis ; tu m’as créé de feu, et lui, tu l’as créé de limon.

God zeide tot hem: Wat belet u, Adam te aanbidden, naardien ik het u had bevolen? Hij antwoordde: Ik ben voortreffelijker dan hij; mij hebt gij van vuur en hem van slijk geschapen.

Dio gli disse: Che cosa è che ti proibisce d’inchinarti dinanzi a lui, quando io te lo comando? Io valgo più di lui, rispose Eblis; tu m’hai creato dal fuoco, e lui l’hai creato dal fango.
