Quran 9:69

Like those before you. They were more powerful than you, and had more wealth and children. They enjoyed their share, and you enjoyed your share, as those before you enjoyed their share. And you indulged, as they indulged. It is they whose works will fail in this world and in the Hereafter. It is they who are the losers.

Even as those before you who were mightier than you in strength, and more affluent than you in wealth and children. They enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye enjoy your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile. And ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers.

Sizden evvelkiler gibi ki kuvvetce sizden daha çetin, mal ve evlâdca sizden daha çok idiler de dünya hayatından kısmetleriyle zevk sürmeğe bakmışlardı, o sizden evvelkiler kısmetleriyle nasıl zevk sürmek istedilerse siz de öyle kısmetinizle zevk sürmeğe baktınız, siz de o batağa dalan gibi daldınız, işte bunların Dünya ve Âhırette bütün amelleri heder oldu ve işte bunlar hep o husran içinde kalanlardır

Vous agissez comme ceux qui vous ont précédés, Ils étaient plus forts que vous et plus riches, et avaient plus d’enfants que vous : Ils se contentaient de jouir de leur part dans ce monde sans songer à la vie future. Vous aussi, vous vous contentez de jouir de votre part, comme jouissaient de leur part ceux qui vous ont précédés ; vous tenez des discours pareils a ceux qu’ils tenaient. Leurs actions ont été en pure perte pour ce monde et pour l’autre. Ils sont perdus.

Gij handelt evenals zij, die vóór u bestonden. Zij waren sterker dan gij en hadden meer overvloed van rijkdommen en van kinderen; en zij genoten van hun vermogen in deze wereld, evenals gij, die uw vermogen hier geniet, gelijk zij, die u vooraf gingen, hun vermogen genoten. En gij mengt u in ijdele gesprekken, evenals zij zich daarin mengden. De daden van dezen zijn ijdel, zoowel in deze als in de volgende wereld, en zij zijn het die verloren gaan.

Voi agite come quei che vi hanno preceduto. Erano più forti, e più ricchi di voi, ed avevano più figli di voi: si contentavano di goderne. Voi ancora vi contentate di godere di cio che vi è toccato come lo facevano i vostri predecessori; tenete dei discorsi simili a quelli che essi tenevano. Le loro azioni sono state vane in questo mondo, e nell’altro. Essi sono perduti.
