Quran 4:78

Wherever you may be, death will catch up with you, even if you were in fortified towers. When a good fortune comes their way, they say, “This is from Allah.” But when a misfortune befalls them, they say, “This is from you.” Say, “All is from Allah.” So what is the matter with these people, that they hardly understand a thing?

Wheresoever ye may be, death will overtake you, even though ye were in lofty towers. Yet if a happy thing befalleth them they say: This is from Allah; and if an evil thing befalleth them they say: This is of thy doing (O Muhammad). Say (unto them): All is from Allah. What is amiss with these people that they come not nigh to understand a happening?

Her nerede olsanız ölüm size yetişir eflâke ser çekmiş burclarda da olsanız; bununla beraber kendilerine bir güzellik erdimi "bu Allah’dan" diyorlar, bir musibet de değdimi "bu senden" diyorlar, de ki: hepsi Allah tarafından, fakat neye bu adamlar söz anlamağa yanaşmıyorlar.

En quelque lieu que vous soyez, la mort vous atteindra ; elle vous atteindrait dans des tours élevées. S’il leur arrive quelque bonheur, ils disent : Cela vient de Dieu. Essuient-ils quelque disgrâce, ils s’écrient : Cela vient de toi, ô Mohammed ! Dis-leur : Tout vient de Dieu. Qu’a-t-il donc, ce peuple, qu’il est si loin de comprendre ?

Waar gij ook mocht wezen zal de dood u bereiken; al waart ge in hooge torens. Indien God hen begunstigt, zeggen zij: Dit is van God, maar indien hun kwaad overkomt, zeggen zij: Dit is van u, o Mahomet! Zeg hun: Alles komt van God; en wat ontbreekt dit volk, dat zij zoo ver verwijderd zijn van hetgeen hun werd gezegd?

La morte vi colpirà in qualunque luogo siate; essa vi colpirebbe anche nelle torri più alte. Gl’infedeli quando ricevono qualche fortuna, dicono: Ciò viene da Dio: quando ricevono qualche disgrazia, gridano: Ciò viene da te o Maometto! Di’ loro: Tutto viene da Dio. Che ha mai questo popolo che non vuol comprendere?
