Quran 4:34

Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, as Allah has given some of them an advantage over others, and because they spend out of their wealth. The good women are obedient, guarding what Allah would have them guard. As for those from whom you fear disloyalty, admonish them, and abandon them in their beds, then strike them. But if they obey you, seek no way against them. Allah is Sublime, Great.

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.

Er olanlar kadınlar üzerinde hâkim dururlar, çünkü bir kere Allah birini diğerinden üstün yaratmış bir de erler mallarından infak etmektedirler, onun için iyi kadınlar itaatkârdırlar, Allah kenidlerini sakladığı cihetle kendileri de gaybı muhafaza ederler, serkeşliklerinden endişe ettiğiniz kadınlara gelince: evvelâ kendilerine nasihat edin, sonra yattıkları yerde mehcur bırakın, yine dinlemezlerse döğün, dinledikleri halde incitmeye behane aramayın, çünkü Allah çok yüksek, çok büyük bulunuyor.

Les hommes sont supérieurs aux femmes à cause des qualités par lesquelles Dieu a élevé ceux-là au-dessus de celles-ci, et parce que les hommes emploient leurs biens pour doter les femmes. Les femmes vertueuses sont obéissantes et soumises : elles conservent soigneusement pendant l’absence de leurs maris ce que Dieu a ordonné de conserver intact. Vous réprimanderez celles dont vous aurez à craindre la désobéissance ; vous les reléguerez dans des lits à part, vous les battrez ; mais, dès qu’elles vous obéissent, ne leur cherchez point querelle. Dieu est élevé et grand.

De mannen zullen de voorkeur boven de vrouwen hebben, door de voordeelen, waarmede God den een heeft begiftigd, om boven de anderen uit te munten, en omdat zij van hun vermogen besteden om hunne vrouwen te onderhouden. De deugdzame vrouwen zijn gehoorzaam en onderworpen; zij bewaren zorgvuldig, gedurende de afwezigheid harer mannen, wat God haar bevolen heeft ongeschonden te bewaren. Gij zult haar bestraffen, wier ongehoorzaamheid gij hebt te vreezen. Sluit haar in afzonderlijke vertrekken op en tuchtigt haar. Maar indien zij u gehoorzaam zijn, zoekt dan geen twist met haar. God is verheven en groot.

Gli uomini sono superiori alle donne a cagion delle qualità per le quali Dio ha inalzato i primi al disopra delle seconde, e perchè gli uomini dotano le donne coi loro beni. Le donne virtuose sono obbedienti, e sottomesse; esso conservano attentamente nell’assenza dei loro mariti ciò che Dio ha ordinato di conservare intatto. Voi sgriderete quelle da cui avete a temere la disobbedienza; le rilegherete in letti separati, e le batterete; ma subito che vi obbediranno non istate a rimproverarle. Dio è grande, e superiore.
