Quran 5:6

O you who believe! When you rise to pray, wash your faces and your hands and arms to the elbows, and wipe your heads, and your feet to the ankles. If you had intercourse, then purify yourselves. If you are ill, or traveling, or one of you returns from the toilet, or you had contact with women, and could not find water, then use some clean sand and wipe your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to burden you, but He intends to purify you, and to complete His blessing upon you, that you may be thankful.

O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer, wash you faces, and your hands up to the elbows, and lightly rub your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it. Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that ye may give thanks.

Ey o bütün iman edenler! Namaz’a kalkacağınız vakit yüzlerinizi ve dirseklere kadar ellerinizi ve başlarınıza mesh edip her iki topuğa kadar ayaklarınızı yıkayın, cünübseniz tas tamam yıkanın, eğer hasta veya seferde olursunuz veya biriniz hacet yerinden gelir veya kadınlara dokunursunuz da suya gücünüz yetmezse o vakit de temiz bir toprağa teyemmüm edin: niyyetle ondan yüzlerinize ve ellerinize mesh eyleyin, Allah’ın muradı sizi sıkıntıya koşmak değil ve lâkin O sizi pam pâk etmek ve üzerinizdeki ni'metini tamamlamak istiyor ki şükredesiniz

Ô croyants ! quand vous vous disposez à faire la prière, lavez-vous le visage et les mains jusqu’au coude ; essuyez-vous la tête et les pieds jusqu’aux talons. Purifiez-vous après la cohabitation avec vos épouses ; mais lorsque vous êtes malades ou en voyage, lorsque vous venez de satisfaire vos besoins naturels, et lorsque vous aurez eu commerce avec une femme, si vous ne trouvez pas d’eau, frottez-vous le visage et les mains avec du sable fin et pur. Dieu ne veut vous Imposer aucune charge ; mais il veut vous rendre purs et mettre le comble à ses bienfaits, afin que vous lui soyez reconnaissants.

O, ware geloovige! indien gij u tot het gebed gereed maakt, wascht dan uw aangezicht, en uwe handen tot onder de ellebogen; wrijft u het hoofd, en ook de voeten tot aan de hielen. En indien gij eene vrouw hebt beslapen, reinigt u. Maar indien gij ziek of op reis zijt, indien gij aan eene natuurlijke behoefte hebt voldaan, of indien gij vrouwen hebt aangeraakt, en gij vindt geen water, neemt dan fijn en zuiver zand, en wrijft uw aangezicht en u uwe handen er mede. God wil u geene moeite veroorzaken, maar hij wil u zuiveren en zijne gunst omtrent u volmaken, opdat gij hem dankbaar zoudt zijn.

O credenti quando vi disponete a fare la preghiera, lavatevi il viso, e le mani fino al gomito; asciugatevi la testa, e le gambe fino ai calcagni. Purificatevi dopo di aver coabitato colle vostre mogli; ma quando sarete malati, o in viaggio, quando avrete sodisfatto ai vostri bisogni di natura, e quando avrete avuto commercio con donna, se non trovate acqua, stropicciatevi il viso e le mani con l’arena fina e pura. Dio non vuole imporvi alcun peso; ma vuole rendervi puri, e mettere il colmo ai suoi benefizj, affinchè gli siate riconoscenti.
