Quran 2:273
| EnglishTalal Itani | It is for the poor; those who are restrained in the way of Allah, and unable to travel in the land. The unaware would think them rich, due to their dignity. You will recognize them by their features. They do not ask from people insistently. Whatever charity you give, Allah is aware of it. |

| EnglishPickthall, 1930 | (Alms are) for the poor who are straitened for the cause of Allah, who cannot travel in the land (for trade). The unthinking man accounteth them wealthy because of their restraint. Thou shalt know them by their mark: They do not beg of men with importunity. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, lo! Allah knoweth it. |
| TurkishElmalılı Hamdi Yazır, 1935 | Verin o fakırlere ki Allah yolunda kapanmışlardır, şuraya buraya dolaşamazlar, istemekten çekindikleri için bilmiyen onları zengin zanneder, onları simalarından tanırsın: Hakkı bizar etmezler, hem işe yarar her ne verirseniz hiç şüphesiz Allah onu bilir |
| FrenchKazimirski, 1840 | Verses 272–273 are translated together in this edition. |
| DutchKeyzer, 1860, from Kazimirski's French | Verses 272–273 are translated together in this edition. |
| ItalianCalza, 1847, from Kazimirski's French | Verses 272–273 are translated together in this edition. |
