And when Abraham said, “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He said, “Have you not believed?” He said, “Yes, but to put my heart at ease.” He said, “Take four birds, and incline them to yourself, then place a part on each hill, then call to them; and they will come rushing to you. And know that Allah is Powerful and Wise.”

EnglishPickthall, 1930

And when Abraham said (unto his Lord): My Lord! Show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: Dost thou not believe? Abraham said: Yea, but (I ask) in order that my heart may be at ease. (His Lord) said: Take four of the birds and cause them to incline unto thee, then place a part of them on each hill, then call them, they will come to thee in haste, and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.

FrenchKazimirski, 1840

Lorsque Abraham dit à Dieu : Seigneur, fais-moi voir comment tu ressuscites les morts, Dieu lui dit : Ne croîs-tu point encore ? — Je crois, reprit Abraham ; mais je voudrais que non cœur fut parfaitement rassuré. Dieu lut dit alors : Prends quatre oiseaux et coupe-les en morceaux ; disperse leurs membres sur la cime des montagnes, appelle-les ensuite : ils viendront à toi ; et sache que Dieu est puissant et sage ;
