Quran 6:165

It is He who made you successors on the earth, and raised some of you in ranks over others, in order to test you through what He has given you. Your Lord is Quick in retribution, and He is Forgiving and Merciful.

He it is Who hath placed you as viceroys of the earth and hath exalted some of you in rank above others, that He may try you by (the test of) that which He hath given you. Lo! Thy Lord is swift in prosecution, and Lo! He verily is Forgiving, Merciful.

O, odur ki sizi arzın halîfeleri yaptı ve bazınızı bazınızın derecelerle fevkine çıkardı, bunun hikmeti ise sizi size verdiği şeylerde imtihan etmektir, şüphe yok ki Rabbin seriulıkab, yine şüphe yok ki O yegâne Gafur, yegâne Rahîm.

C’est lui qui vous a établis sur la terre, pour remplacer vos devanciers ; Il assigna aux uns des degrés plus élevés qu’aux autres, afin de vous éprouver par cela même qu’il vous donne. Votre Seigneur est prompt dans ses châtiments, mais il est indulgent et miséricordieux.

Hij is het, die u heeft aangewezen, uwe voorgangers op aarde op te volgen, en sommigen uwer boven anderen in verschillende graden heeft verheven, opdat hij u zou kunnen bewijzen, wat Hij voor u heeft verricht. Uw Heer is stipt in zijne straffen, maar hij is tevens genadig en barmhartig.

È desso che vi ha stabiliti sulla terra per rimpiazzare i vostri predecessori; egli assegnò agli uni dei posti più alti che agli altri affine di provarvi con ciò che vi dà egli stesso. Il vostro Signore è pronto ne’ suoi gastighi, ma è indulgente e misericordioso.
